Ivy House was built in 1840 by the local  gentry, the Dawneys of Beningbrough Hall. Since then the house has been modernised to provide a high standard of accommodation. A Victorian atmosphere has been retained.
The owners John and Branwen Farbrother have more than 20 years experience  in providing hospitality to visitors from overseas. They have extensive local knowledge and will assist you to make your visit to York and the surrounding area one of the highlights of your holiday.
John is a furniture restorer with a special interest in clocks. Branwen has a career in health care and is now semi retired. Her love of cooking is reflected in the quality of the breakfast provided. Both have lived and worked in African and Middle Eastern countries.
Ivy House B&B is within easy access of York's Park and Ride and is right on the SUSTRANS ROUTE ~ The way of the Roses
